Communication & Cognition Lab
The Communication and Cognition Lab is one of the few research laboratory in Taiwan that integrates communication studies, cognitive psychology, and psychophysiology. By leveraging physiological signals and eye-tracking methodologies, we investigate how the human mind processes mediated messages.
Our research centers on three core areas:
- Attention: How the structural and content features of media messages shape attentional allocation, and what downstream effects they have on memory encoding and attitude formation.
- Emotion: The definition, elicitation, measurement, and effects of emotional responses in media consumption contexts.
- Working Memory:The role of working memory in the processing and comprehension of mediated information.
Our findings have been applied across a range of domains, including online communication, brand placement, human-computer interaction, human-AI interaction, and misinformation research.
