Is the curriculum planning of the Department of Communication more theoretical or practical?
The Department of Communication places equal emphasis on theory and practice. The first and second years are based courses based on text, audio-visual, web pages, design, aesthetics, theory, statistics, and research methods. The third year is the core course, and according to the latest academic development of communication and the trend of the communication industry, three specialty modules are formulated: media creation module, strategic communication module, and digital design module. The fourth year is an integrated curriculum, which implements the curriculum design concepts of “industry-academia connection” and “project production”, and encourages students to go on exchange with foreign universities to expand their global perspectives.

What is the difference between the National Yangming Chiao Tung University's School of Communication and Communication?
The master’s program of the Department of Communication and the Institute of Communication of National Yangming Chiao Tung University are independent teaching units. The Department of Communication is currently the only master’s program in Taiwan that is oriented to “digital media convergence and integrated communication technology practice”, and the development direction will be based on transcending the barriers of traditional media and integrating theory and practice, and the teaching direction will not only be forward-looking theoretical development towards the world trend, but also integrate media practice, so that students can have hands-on experience and hands-on training.

The curriculum of the Department of Communication is designed with professional training in communication technology as the core, but it encourages students to be exposed to the diverse culture of Taiwan, so students of the Department are required to take three Hakka-related courses to better understand the characteristics and historical context of Hakka culture.
