Scholarships

To recognize outstanding student performance, provide financial support for students to focus on their studies, and encourage participation in teaching and service activities within the university, these implementation principles are established in accordance with the “Graduate Scholarship Regulations of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.”

Graduate Scholarships:

  1. New Student Admission Scholarship: First-year graduate students will be evaluated based on their entrance scores (via recommendation or examination). As a general rule, two scholarships will be awarded, with each recipient receiving NT$20,000.
  2. Dean’s List/Outstanding Student Awards: Up to two students per class per semester are eligible, with a maximum subsidy of NT$20,000 per semester.
    • For first-year students, the award is based on standardized rankings of the previous semester’s academic performance and is granted in the second semester.
    • For second-year students, the award is similarly based on the previous semester’s performance and is granted in the first semester.
    • For the second semester of the second year, students must apply by submitting the required documents, including a scholarship application form, transcripts, evidence of academic and professional achievements, and records of outstanding service performance. Awards are granted based on merit.
  3. Graduate Student Academic Achievement Scholarship:
Graduate students who present a paper as the first author at a top-tier or major international academic conference held abroad may apply for a subsidy. Each student is eligible for one subsidy per academic year, with a maximum amount of NT$10,000. Applicants must provide supporting documents, including the acceptance letter, conference agenda, paper abstract, full paper, and proof of presentation, and submit the application to the department office.
