Communication & Cognition Lab
The Communication and Cognition Laboratory (CCL) is one of the few research centers in China that combines communication research, cognitive psychology, and psychophysiology to investigate how humans process media messages through physiological data and eye movements. The Laboratory focuses on three research areas:
- How the structural and content characteristics of media messages affect the distribution of attention and their effects on memory and attitudes.
- Definition, elicitation, measurement and effects of emotions.
- The role of working memory in media information processing. Recent research results have been applied to the fields of online communication, digital games, branding, television news, human-computer interaction, and user experience, and an international media psychology workshop is held every two years.
