DCAT’s “Media Garden” Exhibition

The fourth Internship Projection Exhibition “Palm” has a great ending on Oct. 12. All seniors and students from department of humanities and social science showed their abundant portfolios of their internship experience. The students thought that being a intern is really different from being a student.; it was a great experience to learn, though it was really tough. Other students also said the values of communication are quite different from those learned from school which might cause struggles to deal with the contradiction.

This year’s Internship Project Exhibition has been named “Plum Blossom,” the initials derived from  “media garden” in Chinese. It also meant that during the summer internship in different kinds of media- or communication-related companies, students can really learn lots of things which might not be taught at school.  And after this summer experience, students can receive enough nutrients to bloom like a blossom.

The exhibition has been divided into three sections:  video section, general section and publishing section. video section includes the internship portfolio in TV stations, video production companies and film production companies, etc. General section included those who being interns in PR companies, radio stations, internet and network companies and so on. The publishing section exhibited the those who worked in the publishing industries.

Intership Project Exhibition is an annual event held by Department of Communication and Technology. It starts from a course named Internship Project designed for students to learn something unreachable in school, like work ethics, attitudes, skills. Students could find any kind of industries they were interested and applied.
